Design Envy – Made.com

If you live in the Northern hemisphere like me, you’ll be more than ready to throw off your winter blues, and with them your cosy, snuggly blankets and pillows, and let some Spring lightness and brightness in.

I’ve bought a couple of things from Made over the past couple of years – their designs are just so different to anything on the high street (that I could afford). Two years later and I’m still in love with the Pierre Paul Pariseau limited edition printed canvas which hangs in my living room:

The company is based in Soho, London, and is a breath of fresh air in terms of design and shopping philosophy – they have no warehouses or physical stores, and every 7 days, all orders for a piece are combined and put into production. This process of only manufacturing what’s been ordered helps them to keep prices down. They also work with fresh design talent, meaning that their pieces are usually creative, modern and eclectic. This is why I really like Made – minimising costs and using upcoming designers means that normal people like us can more easily afford really cool pieces of furniture on a tight budget. Here are some of my Made.com current favourites – I have my eye on the brass and green light fitting and the outdoor furniture, how about you?
