This week’s Colour me Friday is inspired by House of Hackney’s Palmeral Green collection. I discovered this collection a couple of months ago when I suddenly decided that I’d like to have a botanical/tropical theme in the living room and since then, whilst I can’t afford to re-decorate the living room on a whim, I have become a bit obsessed with this colour theme. My Two Month Blogiversary
Two Months! I remember sitting down two months ago and thinking how amazing it would be to get maybe five followers (and begging my nearest and dearest to be my first followers – did anyone else do this or just me?). Here’s five things I’ve learned from my two months as a blogger, hope you can relate: 🙂 Continue reading My Two Month Blogiversary
Project fail
As with about half my projects, this one failed. What I saw in my head and what came out are completely different. But I did mention it in a previous entry, so I owe it to you to report on it.
What was supposed to look like a crisp botanical transfer print, destined for my living room wall, came out a bit naff. It’s not about the transfer medium, though, that worked well, but I need to rethink the whole thing.
So here is the process.
You’ll need Dala Transfer Gel, a paintbrush and a printout of your image, bearing in mind the finished product will be a mirror image. I can’t remember where I got this image, so I can’t credit the source, but if someone knows, please let me know and I’d be happy to.

Work it Baby!
Brrr! It’s cold outside – and I can’t think of any better way to walk to work in the snow than in a pair of classic work boots. Although it’s a trend that never really goes away, they are currently in the upper zone of their fashion curve. In October Elle Magazine proclaimed “Timberlands are the new Birkenstocks!” (and controversially omitted the huge influence that hip hop has played in the rise of the Timberland boot). Vogue featured Timberlands in September; Grazia in November; InStyle (and Vogue again) in December. But there’s plenty more to the work boots trend than Timberlands. Continue reading Work it Baby!
Colour me Friday – Seafoam Green Style

I spent this week up on Kintyre on the west coast of Scotland. Surrounded by sea on three sides, it’s a beautiful, wild, windswept (and this week snowy) peninsula. I headed home just as the hailstorm which had kept me awake most of the night turned to snow, I turned to one of my favourite travelling hobbies, “roadtrip window gazing” at the foamy sea. Since I got home, I’ve been thinking about what a lush and under-appreciated colour seafoam green is. Hope you like this week’s picks and pics! Continue reading Colour me Friday – Seafoam Green Style
Colour me Friday – Sparkling Gold Shoes

This week on Colour me Friday, I thought I’d spread a little sparkle in the form of some gold fashion inspo (sorry, Elvis, I love you, but you’re NOT included – I’m talking SHOES! Gold shoes to get you through any weekend activity – hope you like! Continue reading Colour me Friday – Sparkling Gold Shoes
Friends with Benefit

I confess, I’m in love with Benefit. It started a few years ago with a make-up bag that came free with a magazine. Other magazine freebies followed – a small Benetint here, a dandelion lip gloss there…

Before I knew it, I was shyly hovering around the Benefit counter – now I can barely get through a month without buying something! Which brings me to my list of things I adore about Benefit… Continue reading Friends with Benefit
