Whether you prefer Streisand, Buble or Timberlake, we’re all familiar with the song. As someone who has always been affectionately labelled a “cry baby” by my family, I’ve been thinking recently about the subject of crying, and showing emotion in general, at work. 3 Emergency Online Stress-busters

So I’m sitting at home, waiting for a potentially very difficult call…I should add, I’m recovering from an operation at the moment and really only capable of doing a small amount each day. The clock ticks by (the call is now 33 mins late and counting) and I find myself struggling to suppress those chronic anxiety demons, that feeling in the pit of your stomach…heart pounding…chewing my lip…and above all catastrophizing the absolute worst-case outcome of the phone call. I love TED

After a few months, I became (temporarily) bored of almost all music (and I LOVE music), radio, scenery (and we’re talking epic scenery)…you get the picture. Repetition is not good for an eclectic mind. I have the attention span of a gnat.  What kept me going was discovering podcasts (I know, I need to get with the programme, everybody else has been listening to podcasts for years, but up until now I just assumed that they would be an unwanted distraction from my very important “singing in the car” time).
